Functions and Components

The primary function of this mat is to serve as a dowsing chart, allowing the practitioner to obtain specific answers from the pendulum regarding the astral energy in question.

• Zodiac Wheel: This is the central component. When focusing on a question, the pendulum is suspended over the center, and through its movement, it can indicate a sign, astrological house, or element that is influencing the situation or the answer.

• Additional Symbols (Tarot/Sun/Moon): Many of these 15cm mats include:

  • Tarot Cards: Each zodiacal sign is associated with one of the Tarot cards (usually Major Arcana). The pendulum may indicate the sign, and the associated card reveals the quality or lesson of that influence.

  • Sun and Moon: The inclusion of these luminaries in the center focuses the reading on the polarity between consciousness (Sun) and intuition (Moon), which are essential for balancing the response.

Usage in Mystical Practice

• Reading Energy and Influence: Use the mat to identify which astrological energy (sign) is most active in your life or the life of a querent at a specific moment.

• Determining Timing: The pendulum can be questioned about “When will X occur?” and the answer can be read through the speed or direction of movement over the sign that governs the month or the timing of the question.

• Answering Questions: Although it is not a traditional “Yes/No” board, the upper side of the wheel can be associated with positive answers, and the lower side with answers requiring more care or introspection.

• Cleansing and Charging: Due to its portable size (about 15cm), the mat is also used as a charging base for small crystals, leveraging the sacred geometry of the circle and cosmic energies.
